Privacy Policy
Vignesh Marimuthu built the MemDeck app as a Free app, with an optional Premium subscription. This SERVICE is provided by Vignesh Marimuthu at no cost for its free features and is intended for use as is. This page is used to inform visitors regarding my policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use my Service.
If you choose to use my Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that I collect is used for providing and improving the Service. I will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which are accessible at MemDeck unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.
Information Collection and Use
MemDeck requires you to sign in with your Google account to use the app. When you sign in, I collect your name, email address, and profile photo as provided by Google, which are used to identify your account and let you access your data across your devices.
The flashcard decks and cards you create, along with your review activity (streaks, scheduling data, and review history used to power spaced repetition and the Stats screen), are stored in the cloud so they stay backed up and sync across every device you sign in on. This content is only accessible to your signed-in account through the app.
If you subscribe to MemDeck Premium, your purchase and subscription status is processed and stored by RevenueCat and Google Play Billing in order to unlock Premium features on your account. I do not collect or have access to your payment card details — these are handled entirely by Google Play.

How Your Data Is Stored
Your decks, cards, and review data are stored using Firebase (Google's cloud platform) so they can sync reliably across your devices. This data is protected in transit and at rest using Firebase's standard security infrastructure, and access rules are configured so that only your own signed-in account can read or write your data through the app. It is not end-to-end encrypted, which means that, as the developer and operator of this Service, I am technically able to access the raw data stored in the underlying database for the purposes of debugging, maintaining, and improving the Service. I do not access your personal deck or card content except when necessary to investigate a reported bug or provide support, and I will never sell your data or use its content for any purpose beyond operating the Service.
Notifications
MemDeck can remind you when cards are due for review. These reminders are scheduled entirely on your own device and do not involve sending any of your data off your device. Separately, the app may use Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver occasional promotional or informational notifications about the Service; you can control notification permissions at any time in your device settings.
Log Data
I want to inform you that whenever you use my Service, in a case of an error in the app I collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing my Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.
I also use Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate, anonymized usage patterns (such as which features are used and whether an account has an active Premium subscription) so I can improve the app. This data is not tied to your deck or card content.
Cookies
Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. As a native Android app, this Service does not use cookies directly. However, the app relies on third-party libraries (Firebase, RevenueCat, Google Play Services) that may use comparable device or advertising identifiers to provide their services. You can review each provider's own privacy policy, linked above, for details.
Service Providers
I may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
- - To facilitate our Service;
- - To provide the Service on our behalf;
- - To perform Service-related services; or
- - To assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
I want to inform users of this Service that these third parties (currently Google/Firebase and RevenueCat) have access to their Personal Information. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf — such as authentication, data storage and sync, and subscription management. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.
Data Deletion
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data (decks, cards, review history, and streak data) at any time directly within the app, from the Account screen. This action is immediate and cannot be undone.
Security
I value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and I cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Links to Other Sites
This Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by me. Therefore, I strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. I have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
Children's Privacy
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case I discover that a child under 13 has provided me with personal information, I immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact me so that I will be able to do the necessary actions.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
I may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. I will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
This policy is effective as of 2026-09-08
